In partnership with the Ministry of Climate Resilience, The Environment & Renewable Energy, and the Grenada Solid Waste Management Authority, the Recycle Organics Program is thrilled to launch a Home Composting Program in Grenada starting January 27th.
Supported by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Recycle Organics Program is initiating a Home Composting Program in Grenada. The Program is part of a larger effort to reduce methane emissions in Small Island Developing States (SIDS), which have historically contributed the least to climate change but are typically hit the hardest by its cascading effects.
The Home Composting Program will empower families across Grenada to manage organic waste sustainably, helping to significantly reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. Methane, a powerful greenhouse gas responsible for nearly 45% of global warming today, is emitted when organic waste decomposes in landfills. By composting at home, participants will not only help combat climate change but also create nutrient-rich compost to improve soil health, promote plant growth and store carbon.

Participants will receive free home composting bins and equipment as part of the program, while supplies last. To ensure success, participants will also attend a training session to learn practical techniques for establishing and maintaining a composting system at home.
This is your chance to make a meaningful contribution to a greener future for Grenada while learning valuable skills and reducing your household’s environmental footprint. Sign up today!
