Watch: New Recycle Organics Video Highlights Action in SIDS

Our new flagship video is out! Join us on our journey across Small Island Developing States to reduce methane emissions from the waste sector.

The Recycle Organics Program has been working hand in hand with Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to accelerate climate action by reducing methane emissions from the waste sector. From the Caribbean to the Pacific, we’ve supported governments, local experts, and communities in developing practical solutions—from household composting initiatives to national organics diversion strategies—that cut emissions and build resilience.

Our new 5-minute flagship video tells this story. Through interviews, footage from country visits, and firsthand experiences, it showcases the progress being made and the people driving change on the ground. It’s an invitation to witness how SIDS are transforming waste into opportunity for their climate goals and for their communities.

The video will premiere at the workshop “Deepening Impact, Expanding Action in SIDS” in Florianópolis, where the Recycle Organics team and partners are gathering to reflect on achievements and chart the next steps for expanding impact. We’re excited to share it with you too—watch it below!

Since its launch, the Recycle Organics Program has grown into a global initiative, engaging more than 20 countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Pacific. By sharing knowledge, technical assistance, and hands-on support, the program helps governments and communities turn organic waste into a resource—reducing greenhouse gas emissions while improving local livelihoods and resilience.
